Magic: The Gathering is a complex and super fun CCG/TCG from Wizards of the Coast. I used to play this
alot (local tournaments type of alot), and have just recently taught a few friends how to play and they are getting
into it.
Last night I proved my love for Magic is still strong, as I went on eBay to buy a single card for 0.45c and ended
up spending almost $100 dollars to buy a bunch of old cards. I am really liking this game again and will certainly
continue playing for the foreseeable future?
Any other Magic players on AR? Go ahead and post if you play Magic: Online, but I would never pay for that, mostly
because if I started doing Magic: Online, my thousands of cards I already have on paper would be worthless.... hmph.
Yeah, online makes no sense and is a HUGE waste if you already have a lot of cards. Anyway, Magic is an awesome game. Last year, I started getting back into it so I have a bunch of new cards and decks to go with the countless numbers of older ones.
I played a tiny bit... mostly because I know someone who has cards.... and while I think his collection is large I know it's small compared to some people. I'd guess he has around 10,000 cards right now. Maybe even more than that. But I know there is no way that he is even close to the record.
Fun game once I figured it out but I haven't played in a while. TONS of strategy though which is fun. You never know what to expect.
Yeah I just spent another $75 on eBay buying old cards.
I will certainly not be spending any more money on Magic
cards for a while... although now I'm thinking I need some
deck protectors....
Yeah, keeping them in rubber bands is a horrible idea if you want the cards in good condition. I have boxes for all of the decks that I actually give a crap about
i played with brandon (br4n) and some other friends and it is a great game i think... like geogree said the strategy is sweet... the shitty thing is to be real good and have real good cards you gotta spend a lot of money on cards
I haven't played in awhile but I love Magic! I've never been the type to go out and spend an assload of money on it, most of my cards are actually commons or uncommons that I got from friends that would go out and by boxes of the packs. They'd be like, "here we have 20 of this card, take 7" and I'd be like "ok". Then I'd build decks with those cast off commons that would kick the shit out of there decks if I got the draw right. My best is a Black/White Cleric deck from the Onslaught series... Vile Deacons FTW. To be honest though, I really haven't played since the Darksteel set came out... not enough people with interest and I didn't like how they were changing the cards.
